A Chaplain is a spiritual servant who work in pastoral care departments of organisations such as the military, government, prisons, hospitals, police courts and communities. Their mission is to provide a source of spiritual and emotional support for staff members, patients or residents of those organisations and their families.
WE PROVIDE SPIRITUAL SUPPORT & CARE SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITIES OF SOUTH AFRICA
Palliative care aims to deal holistically with physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs. Integration of spirituality may buffer the emotional stress patients and families face when dealing with serious illness and the spiritual support is there to promote the quality of life for patients
SPIRITUALITY IN PALLIATIVE CARE
This is an approach that aims to provide victim empowerment and support to all those who have suffered harm, trauma and/or material loss through violence, crime or socio-economic conditions. Empowerment takes place by changing the thinking process – from victim to survivor and helping people deal with the consequences of the event, to move on and suffer no further loss.
VICTIM EMPOWERMENT & SUPPORT
Having a well trained, seasoned Chaplain on a traumatic scene, immediately establishes the way for a victim to eventually recover by building a bridge of trust between the victim and humanity and or the system, in general.
